At PlumFest, our mission is simple but powerful: celebrate live music, build community, and create an unforgettable day on beautiful Plum Island — all while raising funds for local charities like this year’s primary beneficiary, the Boys & Girls Club of Lower Merrimack Valley. Achieving that mission takes a village, and in 2025 we were fortunate to have incredible support from two groups who made a huge difference: our volunteer Peace Patrol, led by the Wolfe Club, and the Newbury Police Department along with officers from across the region through NEMLEC (Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council).
The Wolfe Club volunteers stepped up to form our very first Peace Patrol — helping manage traffic, guiding guests, and ensuring everyone could enjoy the music safely. Their tireless efforts, patience, and community spirit embodied everything PlumFest stands for, and we are deeply grateful for their dedication.
We also extend a sincere thank you to Newbury Police Chief Patricia Fisher, her team, and the NEMLEC officers who joined us. In addition to two detail officers, PlumFest was supported by about 29 NEMLEC officers and 8 Newbury officers representing multiple units, including motorcycle and mountain bike patrols, Incident Management Team (IMAT), drones, and the Regional Response Team (RRT). Their presence ensured safety, quick response, and clear communication throughout the day.
Beyond logistics, their presence brought pride and joy to festivalgoers. One young attendee told us, “It was like being at a parade all day, but with music!” The sight of so many uniforms, motorcycles, and first responders created a sense of security and celebration that was noticed — and appreciated — by hundreds of our guests.
As a volunteer-run nonprofit with a modest budget, we are humbled by the donation of time and resources that made this year possible. On behalf of our leadership team, volunteers, hosts, bands, and guests, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Together, we created not only a safe and memorable festival, but also lasting positive impact for families in our community.
